Paola Andrea Vargas-Strassner is an accredited public affairs professional working for the state of Maryland. Born in Bogota, Colombia, she received her Bachelor of Arts in social communication and audiovisual production from the Pontifical Xavier University and a Master in strategic public relations from the George Washington University.
She joined Azteca America TV in 2005 as an account executive and entertainment reporter, opening the doors to trusted mid-size Hispanic networks in central Florida, such as Radio Melodia – RCN Orlando and the Osceola Star Newspaper, that earned her early recognition for her media talents as DJ Host, Marketing Manager, and staff writer.
Paola relocated to Washington, D.C., in 2008, where she gained nonprofit experience as a Hispanic media outreach volunteer for Atlas Corps. Her involvement with the community through volunteering and service roles includes the San Diego Colombian Chamber of Commerce as the Secretary of the Board of Directors in 2011, the Girl Scouts of Central Maryland in 2022, and currently with the Public Relations Society of America, where she has been active since 2017.
As a Maryland resident, she has served as a strategic communications professional and interpreter, and enjoys spending time with her family while working in communications and public affairs.
