Anais has two decades of public relations and nonprofit leadership experience. Anais is the Chief Communications Officer for one of the largest, Latino-led nonprofits in the U.S. Anais specializes in crisis communications and litigation public relations.
She was the Chief Public Relations Officer for a nonprofit in San Antonio for nearly 12 years, where she led communications and advocacy on behalf of youth and families involved in the Texas foster care system.
Anais has a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from the University of the Incarnate Word and is a graduate of the San Antonio Hispanic Chamber of Commerce Alex Briseño Leadership Development Program and Latina Leadership Institute, Leadership Austin Essential Class 45, and various leadership programs. Anais is currently pursuing her Masters in Public Leadership from the University of Texas at Austin’s LBJ School of Public Affairs.
Anais received the Image de San Antonio Award as an Outstanding Hispanic Woman Role Model; the Yellow Rose of Texas, through the Office of the Governor recognizing women for their contributions to their communities and the state of Texas; and the Public Relations Society of America San Antonio Chapter, Del Oro Community Service Award.
Anais is married and has a daughter, and is the daughter of Gilberto Biera, Jr., and Mary Helen Biera of Castroville, Texas.
